Default T.O. FASHION WEEK

Is anyone planning on checking out any of the shows or parties?? I think I'm going to do tonight @ C-Lounge, the urban wear fashion show tomorrow night, followed by the after-party @ Budo. I've never gone out to Fashion Week in T.O. before, so it should be interesting!

I think the website is www.torontofashionweek.ca if anyone's interested in more info. There are shows and parties all week.

Look around, every week is fashion week in Toronto

In a bizzare twist maybe a toronto fashion show will end up turning into a club?

i might be heading down for the gala on friday. i went a few times in the past but to be honest, unless you're checking out a show it's not as much fun as you'd think. great if you feel like schmoozing and meeting people, but it's mostly superficial conversation and a bit snobby (okay.....very snobby).

but costume/makeup wise, they put on a great show.

I used to go when I worked in the industry, but I don't think I'd pay...
It really depends what shows you go to, usually the up and coming designers are best.

The afterparties are nothing to rave about, Taya was bang on. You might need to be on a guestlist or show your press/buyer's pass from a show to get in...but maybe not, it's probably changed.

i appreciate good fashion for how it looks but i hate the culture that comes with it. Uptight arrogant people can kiss my ass.

Guys ... go check out the shows ... not just the after parties and support your local designers .... they deserve it!

I REALLY wish I saw this thread before deciding to go to C-Lounge tonight...such a weird snobby crowd there.

The Urban Wear show last night was a blast... actually the clothes were not as nice as I thought they would be (especially from Baby Phat) but they did a great job with hair/makeup/models and the performances were well done also. The performers were Melanie Durand, In Essence and a few others... excuse my ignorance, I'm not really a hip-hop fan... but I had fun anyways! The crowd was a great mix of people, all ages/races/gay/straight whatever, everyone in one place and all getting along (that's why I love T.O.!!!)

The after-party at Budo was a bit crazy getting in (they weren't even letting the models in!) but thankfully my friends and I were able to go in the back door just before last call. :x :x

Anyways, I would rate the night as a whole 8/10 - and I would definitely suggest that everyone go check out a show at the Liberty Grand 2
