Default Steve Lawler @ System Soundbar

So.... what did everyone think???

Personally, that was the best party I've ever been to at Systems - if it were like that there all the time, I would go back every weekend!! I loved the renovations (especially the front room) and a lot of the younger raver-type kids were gone. The crowd was great and everyone was into the music 2 I danced until the stilletto broke off my boot... lol... then we decided it was time to go home (around 6am) but the place was still rammed. It is now after-noon on Sunday, and I just woke up!!! (besides a few hours when I had to work last night...)

Anyways, Friday night just confirmed why Steve Lawler is my #1 Favourite DJ - and I actually kind of preferred seeing him in the smaller venue instead of somewhere big like Koolhaus where there are so many ppl. not even listening to the music.

The only person from TNC I recognized was Slinky... nice to see you again!! And thank your friend for pushing to the front of the coat check line for us!

Steve Lawler @ System was wicked!

The renovations are a big improvement, I like how that VIP room was taken out and replaced as an elevated area to the main room. Back to Steve Lawler, he played a very hard set, but I was disappointed that he didn't play as much tribal as he usually does. Steve Lawler didn't play what I expected but he was still off the hook, and demonstrated why he is one of the best DJ's in the world. It was an improved crowd, not as sketchy as in the past, but the guy to girl ratio was poor at best, as this party was probably 80% guys. Regardless this was one of the best nights I have had at the club over the years. Great mucic, renovations, and vibe. 2 6

System Soundbar looks sooooo much better now. More spacious and more "design" than before. Still waiting for the rest of the sound system to arrive (i.e., speakers at the back of the dancefloor) but up at the front it sounded crisp and balanced. Again, a major improvement!

We had advance tickets and managed to skip all of the lineups outside, but I was a bit concerned about the bottleneck for coatcheck. Fortunately, the staff was very good about controlling the flow and not only did cotacheck move quickly, but the club didn't get too congested either. Nice to see System packed regardless.

Steve Lawler did not disappoint. I loved his set at Guvernment back in December and he played a lot of the same style this past weekend. He got into some really dark and hard music from about 4am onward and kept the energy going straight until 8am. It was nice to hear such a long set for a change (almost 7 hours!).
